Quiet, responsible, serious, and hardworking - a mechanic, a repairman, whatever needs doing - Krav is the quintessential anonymous blue-collar guy. He has the social invisibility of someone that people take for granted (or don't want to pay attention to in the same way as fast food workers or homeless people) and most people don't bother to notice him. And he doesn't mind that, because when they do notice, they usually assume he's a dumb brute foreigner who can't speak English or do basic math -
Or, you know, they assume he's a terrorist. He gets that one a lot.
But he's used to it by now. Give him enough time and he can get used to anything. Things could always be worse - poverty, war, bombings, kidnappings, torture - his parents and grandparents did seek asylum halfway across the world for reasons, after all. One of the major ones being the political-murder of their eldest daughter - or maybe the fact that their eldest son may or may not have political-murdered a whole bunch of people right back immediately after that. Even if all of them might have done the same at that point if they could. And even if he had, somehow, made the ground swallow them up without a trace -
But it's been 15 years since then. And no one's ever brought up that particular incident again since the move. Things are better now, anyway. The family owns a small building, his middle brother is in med school, his youngest sister just entered high school - and all right, so maybe his youngest brother is running around with a bunch of thugs. But Krav figures he'll grow out of it soon...
